This workshop is a short lecture and asana session that focuses on understanding the hip joint and its relationship to the lower spine.

We will explore some of the latest components of developmental physiology and applying them to our asana practise to add the therapeutic flair that takes us and our students out of pain.

Jambo is a multi-disciplinary practitioner with special interests in biomechanics and psycho-spiritual practices. He is one of the few selected Forrest Yoga Guardians who share the teachings of Forrest Yoga practices as close to their original form. He also shares his modifications that have been inspired by the system. Jambo’s method of teaching is fun and very light with the idea that we need these qualities in order to work with our shadows effectively. His style is deliberately memorable and he enjoys to work with the injuries that are in the room so that we all learn in real time.

He frequently travels teaching workshops based on Forrest Yoga, Functional Anatomy and Native practices of the Medicine People. When he is not teaching workshops he stays close to the workshop location to deliver private sessions for bodywork based on his multi-disciplinary practice of structural alignment, muscles testing and classical East Asian medicine. As a Forrest Yoga Guardian and travelling assistant to Ana Forrest, he is committed to delivering the healing practice of Forrest Yoga in its most authentic form. He supplements asana workshops with sessions on functional anatomy, neuro-science, applied kinesiology and structural bodywork.

Continuing Education for Emotional Process and Transformation

This six-day training module is a part of the Forrest Yoga 300-hour Certification.

The overall intent of the course is to learn to integrate and awaken more parts of oneself in order to become a more authentic, compassionate and grounded teacher. Participants are encouraged to bring the parts of themselves that are in hiding to a more alive and full state, thereby becoming a more contained and vibrant teacher.

The CET looks at:
  • Exploration of body sensations, feelings, presence and awareness.
  • Skills to ground and centre, as well as to overall build resources.
  • Introducing the concept of somatic resonance and its importance to teaching authentically.
  • Developing awareness on how we support others and how much we resist or allow incoming support.
  • Transformation and the basis of transformation. The cooperation and regulation of left and right brain.
  • Space to teach and receive compassionate and constructive feedback exploring underlying patterns that manifest within the teaching.
  • How to build and maintain community as a way to have ongoing support.

Day 1 to day 6: MORNINGS

This masterclass is a condensed collection of shoulder wisdom every yoga teacher and movement enthusiast wants to know about.

We will explore the anatomy of how breathing and core stability directly effects shoulder strength and mobility with extra attention paid on the shoulder joints. We will explore how these joints are involved in yoga poses as well as using yoga poses to diagnose the conditions of the joints which will enable us to understand what poses to prescribe for various movement limitations.

You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend this section. £60 and it is not non stop yoga

In this workshop we will explore the foundations of shoulder stability within yoga poses and learn how to adapt this ‘sense-of-stability’ to progressive wall work that is designed to help practitioners gain mastery over their own bodyweight.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their arm-balance and inversion game in a way that honours the stability and strength that you currently have. There will be various progressions that you can take home and integrate into your own personal practise.

Wrist optimisation work is also included for those who are sensitive in this area as well as other progressions that offer shoulder stability using forearm variations of inversions and arm balances.

This training is for people who want to learn how to heal themselves so they can learn how to help heal others. By exploring your own asymmetries, injuries and anatomical characteristics through 10 days of yoga, bodywork, & ceremony, you will be educated how to apply and prescribe yoga postures and bodywork to initiate recovery and improve intrinsic mobility patterns.

How it works is best displayed in how mom or dad soothes their young child with touch, or how a dog and dog-lover communicate through play and petting. The Medicine of the Caress comes through in how it communicates to the receiver that they are perfect as they are, they are worthy of being touched in a way that makes them feel good, and that they are safe, loved, and cared for.

Without the Caress as a backbone most forms of bodywork tends toward being mechanistic. With the Caress, the body’s neuro-muscular-fascial-fatty-lymphatic-vascularized sleeve learns how to uptake pleasure and meet it’s own tension in ways that release and process out through the entire body.

As a YogaBodyworker graduate you will be equipped with educational and practical tools that enhance movement and mobility within yourself and clients and to apply touch in a highly skilled way.

This weekend of experiential workshops is designed to offer practitioners a sensory understanding of their own anatomy in yoga poses. Each morning focuses on a sequence that prepares practitioners to work on the hands-on assists in the afternoon. Even if you are not a teacher, learning hands on assists gives you a deeper appreciation of your own body and the directions of your own yoga practice. This workshop experientially demonstrates how standing poses are the most effective for long lasting hip opening. Standing Pose Series is a method of sequencing that is unique to Forrest Yoga. Not only does this sequencing style help to create more strength in the legs by training the neuro-pathways to safely go beyond their familiar edge, it is also an ideal sequencing style to have longevity in the openness of hips. This workshop will take you through the several planes of possible movements for the hips so you can discern which are your strong directions and which angles you need to work more for your personal development of happy hips. Continuing Education for Effective Coaching and Teaching
This six-day training module is a part of the Forrest Yoga 300-hour Certification.

Who is this training for?
This 6-day training is designed for Forrest Yoga Teachers who want to assist Forrest Yoga Teacher Trainings, those interested in teaching others how to teach, and those wanting to up-level their teaching and assisting skills.

It is taught by Forrest Yoga Guardians, Cat Allen and Heidi Sormaz.

Enrollment
There are two different enrollment types in this training: Lead-Assistant-in-Training or Assistant-in-Training.
Lead-Assistant-in-Training spots are limited to six. Priority enrollment for Lead-Assistant-in-Training is given to assistants who have previously assisted a Forrest Yoga® Teacher Training for a minimum of five days. No assisting experience required for an Assistant spot.

Prerequisite
You must be a graduate of the 200-Hour Forrest Yoga® Foundation Teacher Training.

Benefits
  • 42-hour credit towards the 300-Hour Forrest Yoga® Advanced Teacher Training.
  • If you are a Lead-Assistant-in-Training, you receive an additional 10 hours of credit for the additional training you receive in the private assistant practice at 6:15 am-8:30 am each day.

Course Description
This training teaches Assistants how to coach and teach trainees within the Forrest Yoga® teacher training curriculum. You will learn and practice coaching techniques including how to give teaching feedback, how to work with triggers and challenges that trainees face, and how to coach hands-on assists. Most importantly, you will learn how to create and hold a safe space for learning and growing.

Daily Schedule
Each day begins with a Morning Intensive that includes Calling in the Four Directions, Chanting, and Meditation followed by an asana practice. The afternoon sessions focus on teaching you how to be an effective coach and teacher. Lead Assistants in Training also participate in the early morning practice prior to the Morning Intensive.

TheForrest Yoga® Mentorship Program (FYMP) will take you through a journey of continued growth and learning so that you can embody your passion for teaching and become a more effective teacher and healer.

OPEN ONLY FOR: Graduates of the Forrest Yoga® Foundation Teacher Training / RETURN MENTEES

This FYMP (58 total hours of training) comprises of a 8-day program of daily continuing education workshops/classes (includes teaching practicum w/feedback) followed by 4 bridge calls over a 6-month period. Throughout this program, you will get to hone your teaching and hands-on assisting skills, to become more skilled at working with injuries, to ask your questions about teaching Forrest Yoga®, and to get guidance with your Level 2 certification homework (if you’re not already Level 2 certified).

The FYMP is undeniably a powerful continuum of the great work and deep processes you started in the Foundation Teacher Training.

All the workshop days incorporate a morning Forrest Yoga® intensive taught by SinHee McCabe & Jambo Truong, hands-on assisting clinic, Forrest Yoga® sequencing practice, and opportunity for mentees to teach and assist an afternoon Forrest Yoga class to the public (Mentees to get feedback from their Mentor).

The focus of each workshop draws you deeper into the pillars of Forrest Yoga: Breath, Integrity, Strength and Spirit. For instance: One workshop follows of the theme of Authenticity. In this workshop, Mentees examine the truth of what they speak and why they teach what they do. This workshop helps Mentees build congruency between what they teach and who they are and offers training for Mentees to communicate clearly and effectively. We also explore ceremonial practices including Smudging, Calling in the Four Directions, and Talking Circle.

Continuing Education for Effective Coaching and Teaching

This six-day training module is a part of the Forrest Yoga 300-hour Certification.

Who is this training for?
This 6-day training is designed for Forrest Yoga Teachers who want to assist Forrest Yoga Teacher Trainings, those interested in teaching others how to teach, and those wanting to up-level their teaching and assisting skills.

This will be an intimate, small group of a maximum of 12 people.

Enrollment
There are two different enrollment types in this training: Lead-Assistant-in-Training or Assistant-in-Training.
Lead-Assistant-in-Training spots are limited to six. Priority enrollment for Lead-Assistant-in-Training is given to assistants who have previously assisted a Forrest Yoga® Teacher Training for a minimum of five days. No assisting experience required for an Assistant spot.

Prerequisite
You must be a graduate of the 200-Hour Forrest Yoga® Foundation Teacher Training.

* 42-hour credit towards the 300-Hour Forrest Yoga® Advanced Teacher Training.
* If you are a Lead-Assistant-in-Training, you receive an additional 10 hours of credit for the additional training you receive in the private assistant practice at 6:15 am-8:30 am each day.

Course Description
This training teaches Assistants how to coach and teach trainees within the Forrest Yoga® teacher training curriculum. You will learn and practice coaching techniques including how to give teaching feedback, how to work with triggers and challenges that trainees face, and how to coach hands-on assists. Most importantly, you will learn how to create and hold a safe space for learning and growing.

Daily Schedule:
Each day begins with a Morning Intensive that includes Calling in the Four Directions, Chanting, and Meditation followed by an asana practice. The afternoon sessions focus on teaching you how to be an effective coach and teacher. Lead Assistants in Training also participate in the early morning practice prior to the Morning Intensive.

The Art Of Letting Go

How do we let go when we are asked to do so? What are we letting go of? Mental constructs, physical tension, emotional distress?

Whatever it is, we use Ceremony, meditation, yoga postures and bodywork to feel different movement patterns and study how to let go by first letting in.

MEDITATION AND INTENSIVES
Each day starts off with a ceremony involving chanting, drumming and meditation to set the intent for the day and create the space for healing and connection to your Spirit, followed by a 2-hour intensive that will create a heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your body. Through carefully sequenced Forrest Yoga asanas, Jambo will open you to amazing depths and feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed, refreshed and alive. TRAINING FOR TEACHING
The afternoon sessions encompass 4-hour sessions of training and instruction. Using skill-building exercises, you’ll work with the essential elements of teaching, such as: class sequencing, explore optimal personal nutrition, work with sadhanas (spiritual exercises), learn about personal and professional ethics, effective pose sequencing, the use of safe and effective hands-on adjustments, and effective clear, concise and powerful communication, eliminating mind-dulling habitual phrases, and tone of voice as well as the continued development of a more charismatic presence and honesty in your class.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This programme is for yoga teachers or experienced practitioners from any style who aspire to improve their personal practice and those who are ready to move deeper within themselves and increase the mental acuity needed to explore the rich tapestry of Forrest Yoga. This six-day training module is a part of the Forrest Yoga 300-hour Certification.

Course Description
The overall intent of the course is to learn to integrate and awaken more parts of oneself in order to become a more authentic, compassionate and grounded teacher. Participants are encouraged to bring the parts of themselves that are in hiding to a more alive and full state, thereby becoming a more contained and vibrant teacher.

The CET looks at:
  • Exploration of body sensations, feelings, presence and awareness.
  • Skills to ground and centre, as well as to overall build resources.
  • Introducing the concept of somatic resonance and its importance to teaching authentically.
  • Developing awareness on how we support others and how much we resist or allow incoming support.
  • Transformation and the basis of transformation. The cooperation and regulation of left and right brain.
  • Space to teach and receive compassionate and constructive feedback exploring underlying patterns that manifest within the teaching.
  • How to build and maintain community as a way to have ongoing support.
