Who this training is for:
This 3-day training is designed especially for Forrest Yoga Teachers but is open to Yoga Teachers from all backgrounds who want a more thorough understanding of the Myo-Fascial System, those interested in working with specific injuries of the lower body, and those with a desire to learn more hand’s on work.

Pre-requirements:
Graduation from a Yoga Teacher Training Course

Course Description:
This training teaches Teachers how to “see” and comprehend structural patterns  through a Unified Anatomy Perspective based on the Myo-Fascial System. You will learn and practice techniques including how to work one-on-one with specific pain syndromes, how to address the Myo-Fascia with hand’s on yoga assists, and “seeing & empathing” exercises designed for enhanced global seeing. Most importantly, you will learn to trust in your own sense of touch and marvel at the new depths you will begin to feel.

Daily Schedule:
Each day begins with a Morning Intensive that includes Calling in the Four Directions, Chanting, and Meditation followed by an asana practice. The afternoon sessions focus on teaching you how to “see” global anatomy relationship and to be more effective with your hand’s on assisting when working one-on-one.

Unraveling the Mysteries of the Neck Shoulders and Hips

In this Forrest Yoga session you learn to create freedom and strength in hip, neck and shoulders. You will learn to safely unlock these habitual tension spots through intensely focused breathwork and asana (including inversions, standing poses and vinyasa). Strengthen and lengthen the muscles around these joints and create space in these areas. This work helps you walk through your life with grace and freedom. Rewire Your Brain to Live the Life You Most Desire

Sunday, October 2nd, 2:00pm-4:30pm
Are you ready to claim the life you most desire? It starts with getting on your mat and questing for it. In this workshop you will explore and understand which of your behaviors work and which don’t. Nourish and rewire your mind to change habitual behaviors that hold you back from claiming the life you most desire. Build new neurological pathways through breath and asana to ignite fresh connections within your brain, and create new patterns that help you move forward. The workshop begins with a short, very special Ceremony of song, dance and smoke blessing. For 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teachers the credits of the course can be applied towards the 500 hour certification, and is eligible for 6.5 hours CEU with Yoga Alliance. Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

This 80 hour course is designed to meet the needs of the participants involved. The purpose of this program is to teach people how their body works, what is happening when things go off, and how to use Forrest Yoga, Muscle Function Testing, & MyoFascial Release Bodywork to discern and decrease pain and compensation patterns.

The many different body types, injuries, and postural dysfunctions represented by the students in each training develops the flow, order, and relevancy of the material taught. 

The basic outline: Over 10-Days we will be using Ceremony, Forrest Yoga Asana, & Bodywork to go deeply into the body’s muscular-fascial relationships, why it is important to know what connects what to what and what is influencing what, and the emotional components of the body/mind and how trapped energy influences structure, mood, & physiology.
Each day includes plenty of hands-on work including how to locate, muscle test, stretch in Asana, and perform myofascial release Bodywork on the 16 most influencing structural muscles.

You will not be the same person after this course. You will have a much vaster appreciation for your own body and in your ability to comprehend and see-through the many different layers of helping another.

Learn how to free-up tension from these common trouble-spots. This is a great workshop if you have injuries, new or old. You will learn valuable skills to help strengthen and bring balance to these areas.

Each day of this weekend workshop has 4 parts. First, a 90 minute Forrest Yoga class sequenced and guided to strengthen & support the day’s focused area. Second, will be a quick Anatomy Discussion with handout outlining the important points for addressing issues in these areas. Freeing your spine creates the feeling of a longer and more flexible back. The muscles that make up your back are often under or over used. This can cause incorrect use of these muscles in many of our movements in daily life and activities. As a result we move inefficiently which isn’t the best use of our energy.

Many back related symptoms are not due to the activity that created the issue rather daily habits of our movement. This workshop offers many techniques that you can use anywhere to correct your structure and free yourself from pain or congestion in life as well as in back bends.

This workshop focuses on the basic moves of Forrest Yoga that create more space in the upper, mid and lower back. We will explore how freeing up more space in these areas also promotes more energy and a stronger immune system.

The Forrest Yoga Morning Intensives accompany the Foundation Teacher Training and are open to everyone. Training Overview

Awareness is a vital component when developing the skills necessary to teach from your own found truths. Through daily meditation, intensives and group instruction, trainees begin to discover the voice of their own spirit, which leads to a truly authentic life path.

Ceremony & Intensives

Each day starts off with a ceremony involving chanting, drumming and a teaching story or a fairy tale  to set the intent for the day and create the space for healing and connection to your spirit, followed by an intensive that will create a heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your body. Through a carefully sequenced Forrest Yoga asanas, Sandra will open you to amazing depths and feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed, refreshed and alive. The intensives are a sanctuary where you can feel safe to open up, work through issues that may arise and go beyond your perceived limitations. You will learn about yourself and feel what it is like to have freedom in your own body and mind. The intensives are sure to bring each trainee to new levels within their yoga practice.

Teacher Training

The afternoon sessions encompass 4-5 hour sessions of training and instruction. Using skill-building exercises, trainees will work with the essential elements of teaching, such as: class sequencing, explore optimal personal nutrition, work with sadhanas (spiritual exercises), learn about personal and professional ethics, effective pose sequencing, the use of safe and effective hands-on adjustments, and effective clear, concise and powerful communication, eliminating habitual phrases, and tone of voice as well as the continued development of a more charismatic presence and honesty in your class.

Adventure to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, at stunning Luna Lodge in the Osa Peninsula, for an illuminating week of ceremony, yoga, and nature immersion. Each day will begin with a traditional ceremony of drumming, chanting and journey –work, led by Jerusha Rone. The Forrest Yoga Morning Intensives accompany the Foundation Teacher Training and are open to everyone. Join us for a daily sacred Ceremony of music, song, dance & smoke blessing lead by Ana & Medicine Man, Jose Calarco and feature special ceremonial guests. Each Ceremony sets the intent for the day and the practice, as well as honouring those taking part, the ancestors and custodians of our sacred land.

Ceremony is followed by a 2-hour Forrest Yoga practice that will create a heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your body. Through carefully sequenced Forrest Yoga asanas, Ana will open you to amazing depths and feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed, refreshed and alive. The intensives are a sanctuary where you can feel safe to open up, work through issues that may arise and go beyond your perceived limitations. You will learn about yourself and feel what it is like to have freedom in your own body and mind.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
• We recommend bringing a yoga strap, block, 2 mats (or 1 mat and 1 blanket/towel to roll up)
• The room will be heated up to 85 degrees (30 degrees celsius).
• You can book morning intensives on September 1st- 11th and 15th - 25th.
