Working on feeling as though we are enough can be a lifetime process. Getting peace from those self-doubting self-critical and self-mutilating thoughts and replacing them with self-love, self-worth and compassion is a daily practice.

In this Forrest Yoga workshop we will look at inversions and arm balances and break them down so all levels can discover the joy in these challenging poses.

The enjoyment of the preparations for inversions and arm balances is the key to successfully achieving them. These enchanting techniques are designed to bring joy in the preparation stages of your practise.

Know that, whichever variation you are working with, you are enough!

This is a mixed level class. Opening with ceremony, meditation and medicine chants. There will be several stages to each pose to enable absolute beginners and the advanced practitioners enticing variations to work with! Chronic back pain or injury keeping you from doing the things you love? Or have hours sitting at a desk created stiffness in your low back and hips?

Revitalize and strengthen your back in this 2-hour workshop with Forrest Yoga and Pilates teacher, Lisa Day.

Designed for anyone suffering from chronic or sporadic back pain, tension and/or weakness. Discover safe techniques to help you find more comfort, ease and vitality in your back.

We’ll begin with a discussion of common sources of back pain and ways to safely stretch and strengthen the low back, including:
Ways to modify your practice of any style of yoga to diminish, heal and avoid re-aggrevating back pain
Movements and poses to avoid as well which to make a part of your regular practice
Tips for working with common low back issues and injuries including disc degeneration and herniation, sciatica, stenosis and SI joint dysfunction

Lisa will then guide you through a 90-minute Forrest yoga-inspired practice designed to enliven the core and strengthen your back. Work, sweat and attain freedom from back pain.

All ages, ability and experience levels are welcome. The room will be gently heated to 80-85 degrees to allow the body to move in an easeful, pain-free way.​

A Pacific Coast Yoga Retreat: Adventure, Ceremony and Yoga in Costa Rica

Adventure to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, at stunning Luna Lodge in the Osa Peninsula, for an illuminating week of ceremony, yoga, and nature immersion. Each day will begin with a traditional ceremony of drumming, chanting and journey –work, led by Jerusha Rone. She will then guide you through a 2 hour, (intent driven), Forrest yoga practice, all while receiving hands on assists and adjustments from Lana Smithner and Brittany Bares. Afternoon sessions will be led by Brittany or Lana and include a second asana practice, as well as talking circles, book talks, yoga nidra and nature immersions into the surrounding park and local beach. Three organic and healthy meals will be included for each day. Body-work and other support services will be available at an additional cost.

We are especially excited to announce a very special guest musician, Dave Hildtebrand. Dave will weave his musical scoring throughout the entire week.

Luna-Lodge is set in 150-acres of tropical rainforest and 75 of those acres are virgin rainforest. National Geographic has described the Osa Peninsula as, “The most biologically intense place on Earth.” The property hosts hundreds of plant and animal species, as well as a year-round waterfall. After you have explored the rainforest, take a short walk to the beach to witness a breath-taking sunset set against the Pacific Ocean. The intent of this continuing education training is:

Each day starts with setting intent and using yoga ceremony to channel our attention into a practise that enables progress within the journey we are working on. Each yoga intensive focuses on going deeper into the layers that require illumination to become free from what holds us back. By using Forrest Yoga poses we can generate the heat and freedom from struggle, resistance and pain in a safe way that creates more space for 'us' to live through.

In this workshop you will learn skills in accessing, cleansing and resolving emotional issues in order to move them out of the cell tissue, thus freeing your heart. This makes room for seeing and absorbing the beauty and sweetness in our world, nourishing the heart.

This magic heart-opening asana workshop will guide you in removing the emotional shielding from your heart so it can truly and honestly feel each new experience ahead of you.

To conclude this amazing weekend, you will enjoy a challenging and exciting practice of inversions and arm balances to rejuvenate the mind and body. These asanas increase circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy, stimulating the endocrine and immune systems. Both arm balancing poses and inversions develop mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility. In this session, learn the essential elements of these powerful poses and how to apply what you learn in your daily life.  Please note that this class is INT/ADV Level is not appropriate for pregnant woman or those with detached retinas, or wrist or arm injuries.  If you fall into any of those categories you may attend the class but you will a) need to let us know in advance and you will need to sit out many of the poses and find your own gentle substitutes.

Day 1: Therapeutic Backbending
Therapeutic Backbends are poses that have less of a ‘visual aim,’ making them easier to use to track progress. By refining our skills to feel the other senses, and working with our own individual organic rate of release and development, this becomes a journey that deepens our language of self-care. Through this workshop, self-kindness and compassion will become a confident dialogue between cell tissue and heart.

Day 2: Working With What Is: A Forrest Workshop

Working with what is & giving ourselves the best quality of attention enables us to sharpen our focus and pay attention to what is unfolding right now. The way of the Taoist Sage is to recognise ‘what is in the way, is the way.’

This ‘Play-Shop’ is aimed at refining our skills in back-bending inversions such as scorpion and forearm balance variation on the wall. Each apex pose will be defined by a group or ‘pre-work’ poses that practitioners can jump back and practise at any point of the sequence to assist in an improved understanding of these fun and dynamic poses. For example, if you feel it’s your shoulders or your hips that require more attention to more easily access the pose then spend the ‘Play-Time’ working on these before jumping back into the sequence.

An option of poses will be given for each area of the body targeted. Expect to walk away with an increased encyclopedia of poses for each area.

Description
The Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training is a 27-day yoga teacher training that includes 22 days of intensives (group practices) and teacher training exercises, a 3-day Anatomy Course, and a 2-day Business Course.  It is a comprehensive program for aspiring teachers, experienced teachers, and yoga students who want to work deeper within themselves.  The Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training delivers a solid foundation in the art of teaching Forrest Yoga and is the first step to becoming a Forrest Yoga Certified Teacher.

Tuition
The total standard tuition for this Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training is $5, 225 US.  That amount includes the core curriculum and the Anatomy Course.

If you opt to pay in 2 payments, a deposit of $2,250 US is due upon registration. The remaining $2,975 US is due 30 calendar days prior to the start of the Teacher Training or when the training becomes full, whichever comes first. Your spot in the training is held only upon receipt of your deposit and is guaranteed upon receipt of your full payment.

Lunch Package Option

Lunch pakcage price:  $179.-
This includes lunch for each day (27 days) of the training.

We have the absolute luxury to be able to offer fresh, healthy and delicious ecological lunches during the Foundation Teacher Training in Berlin! That means, you don’t have to even think about where to shop and when to prepare your food, you can simply enjoy it, ready for you, after your morning intensive! The parc like garden invites you to spend your precious break time on the studio ground, gaining time and nerve for necessary rest and recovery!

Food is homemade, nutritious and fresh, with ecological ingredients from local farms.
Dishes will be simple, rich and tasty without gluten, no onion and garlic, and fitting for a vegan diet.
Sheep or goat milk products, as well as eggs will be served seperately on some of the days.
You will enjoy different fresh vegetables, as well as gluten free grains, potatoes, lentils, pumpkin and salads.

All topped off with different nutritious seeds.

Please note: These lunches fit for the following diets: Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, cow milk free, sugar free.

We cannot cater for any other diets, that are not listed above.

The following persons qualify for discounts on Teacher Training Tuitions:
  •     20% for Forrest Yoga Hoop Members (applies also to Early Bird)
  •     10% for military personnel including Active Duty, family members, retirees and veterans. Military ID required (applies also to Early Bird).
  •     $800 for repeat students, that are not members of the Hoop (applies on the standard tuition only).

The Forrest Yoga Morning Intensives accompany the Foundation Teacher Training and are open to everyone. Join us for a daily sacred Ceremony of music, song, dance & smoke blessing lead by Ana & Medicine Man, Jose Calarco and feature special ceremonial guests. Each Ceremony sets the intent for the day and the practice, as well as honouring those taking part, the ancestors and custodians of our sacred land.

Ceremony is followed by a 2-hour Forrest Yoga practice that will create a heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your body. Through carefully sequenced Forrest Yoga asanas, Ana will open you to amazing depths and feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed, refreshed and alive. The intensives are a sanctuary where you can feel safe to open up, work through issues that may arise and go beyond your perceived limitations. You will learn about yourself and feel what it is like to have freedom in your own body and mind.
